clues
I just solved this one but still have no idea what "newsgroup" means or what the clues given are supposed to tell you. All I can say is get a crypto book and read the first few chapters.

ok... well... i guess i missed out and will never get it
and i wasn't that good with codes until i tried that one... i had a set of (literally) 5 code books out and was reading through them (and now i know more about codes/cyphers than most people near me ever will this part was unnecessary... but i is happy about it) but in that set of 5 books i still wasn't able to find anything out...they all came out wrong...

Heh, it dates back a lot further than that!
The message is a bit short for frequency analysis, but the books and their techniques will come in handy for other ciphers later on.
You should be able to find enough information via Google. When people say "newsgroups" they usually mean "Usenet" - the main worldwide newsgroup system - and you might get better results searching for that.
