First of all, I sincerely hope this thread was a joke.

Secondly, www.encyclopediadramatica.com / www.4chan.org

Anonymous was never a secret club of hackers that lived in an imaginary treehouse, and anyone smart enough genuinely be a hacker I doubt would be amongst them :/

i honestly think they exist, but aren't as hardcore as they seem. they're probably a bunch of kids trying to be cool and everyone they "hacked" is probably a relative who left their password written down somewhere and they found it. the response is probably from them, or from someone trying to jack their hype (notice the response uses a guy fawkes mask rather than just dimmed lights like the normal anon's videos). if there's a way to contact these "anonymous" characters, i'd make a blank myspace account and challenge them to hack it. if they can, its a blank. if they can't my point is proven. (id also include that in the challenge :D)

i also don't understand how they can just get someone's myspace password, an SQL attack wouldn't work on a site that expects that much traffic (thus better security) and im sure that just about every form would be sterilized (except email submission but all they could get outta that really is the email of everyone, if they're lucky). i still another fun thing to notice that there's always a person there to videotape their "acts" (like the harry potter thing) and yet no one out of a crowd of about 300 stops this one dumbass with a megaphone. i do believe that this is a fake video, with more proof being the demonstration of the exploding van. they threatened to bomb a stadium, yet the one shown there is tiny. i SERIOUSLY doubt that FOX would have to show us all what an explosion looks like with that kinda thing, unless it was a video of a bomb set up by the anon's, giving FOX a reason to film it (which would be pointless risk on the anon's part). the reporter's use of the word "lulz" more than necessary also leads me to believe that this is fake.

ya know another thing I noticed is they were referred to as "Hackers on steroids"??

Isn't that a oxymoron? I usually think of someone on steroids as being all bronze and no brains

I did do a little research though....aparently the group Anonymous is an activist group that is against scientology. And the guy fawkes mask is like a trade mark for them i guess(?) They apparently hate scientology and are trying to "destory" them. Granted scientology is pretty retarded but it seems like that a waste of energy. Anyway, Im guessing that these goofballs aren't related to this Anon group but who knows...

I also agree with PaRoDoX, a bunch of little Script Kiddies (at most). As far as cracking myspace passwords, I've seen some tools out there that claim to do this but I don't know if they work. I would think that myspace has some fairly top-notch security in place.

i doubt it would be an oxymoron, anyone can take 'roids. and i think you mean brawn, not bronze ;)

with regards to the guy fawkes mask, you missed my point there. notice in the FOX news video that so called "anonymous" member had his face censored / dimmed, not wearing a guy fawkes mask. maybe the second video is some retard trying to be cool but doesn't know how to utilise video effects very well....
i doubt the to anon groups are related, since the one on fox doesn't say anything about scientology, and their targets are just average joes (so to speak). i doubt that a simple tool could crack passwords that easily......unless its a dictionary attack.....or maybe even brute force. the guy on the report didn't look to smart, his passwords may have sucked. actually, if you look real close, SOME of the words in the video seem....outta sync with the mouth movements. but it can't be a youtube compression thing, since some of it sync's up just fine...... ,_,

I see what you mean about the fawkes mask, but what I'm saying is that the guy in the second video was using it to try to relate to the other Anonymous even though they are likely are not. I think the guy your talking about the in fake fox clip isnt suppose to be from the so called "anonymous" group, but some guy wanting to take them down. The voice over is def out of sync. As far as the tools to crack the passwords, Im sure they don't work without have the password file from myspace to decode.

well, the myspace password cracking tool could just be a simple brute forcer (im sure the username isn't that hard to get)

True, and a simple password could be cracked in a second.

Well I created the brute force library a while ago to attempt to take over my family router so that I can get my port open for my game.

It just the matter of characters used in the password and number of characters.

My plan is a failure why?

My family used more than 70 character long and yes... my dad told me that... -_-

That would take forever to break the code.

Brute force work by adding by 1 repeatably.

By having 'a' character in number go to the maximum character of 'Z' then it extent to the next digit and reset the 'Z' character to 'a'. When the double digits go up to the top then it turn to 'a' then extent to 3th digits.

That how my brute force work.

lol lucky me. i admin my router and everything else about my comp, since i'm the only one here who can even turn the thing on (apart from my technology challenged sister, who doesn't know all too much either. she's never heard of control panel, lol.)
