The answer is meaningful, well defined and certainly appropriate in the context of this challenge.

Well, i thought from the previous clues and a misspelling of the name of the challenge that this was related to a semi-daily changing image.
Except looking at those dates I can find no connection. Am i on the right lines? If not a small clue would be appreciated.

Thanks

Payne

Yep, pretty sure you are on the right track; however as someone mentioned depending on which source you use you can get slightly different results, but hopefully close enough to get a meaningful answer with a bit of tweaking! The 'official' source I used to make the challenge now seems to have errors in it which were not there before; so I guess its got a bit harder :(

For an example of this take 18/05/2008 ...
(out by one error, much?!)

Its typical. Although it took three separate sites it was fairly easy to get the first few characters.
But the important characters arnt so easy.
Would make perfect sense if it was a particular corporate headquaters, or the word from which they come. Yet neither are accepted.

Think the challenge needs updating.

I have the answer now. It was nothing to do with the corporate headquaters.

Turns out while the official source is rubbish for the first characters, it is fine for the answer itself. I recommend to anyone trying this to work from the bottom up.

Perhaps there is an extra twist for non-US people as the place to look for the answer is not
very common for europeans. The 'draw'-hint was extremly helpful for me after
inspecting all(!) the german translations of 'draw'.

Wow, that was difficult. I did it using only the "official" source, but yeah, it has a lot of errors in it. (Still correct enough to know if you're on the right track, though.) It's possible, but requires a lot of fudging and thinking about what it could have originally said.

some dates missing

Post by BazzPsychoNut »

Am I correct to assume that the dates in 2003 and 2004 no longer can be found?

Hey guys,

I think this one may be related to a game which children are not yet allowed to play. Unfortunately there are many game hosts and (I'm from Europe) I have no idea which one is the most popular / most well-known in the US. Any hints?

Thanks!

I'm sorry, maybe I'm stupid, but to me this challenge is completely crazy...
I've spent 6 hours on this now, that is after figuring out what to do. Simply because it either doesn't follow any logic or the resources available don't make sense for the last characters... Maybe this is intended but that's just wicked. I ended up brute-forcing every remotely possilble letter combination for the last 4 letters, sorting out the obvious garbage and then trying stuff.

so I'll give a little hint here, just redact it if this is too helpful...

if you're nearly there you might try out this one as well, but take half a step back from the most obvious information source:

01/04/20..

Edit: gowron, you're probably on the wrong track. think what resource on the web displays different content based on day and location, maybe that helps

Don't agree with fragman. When you really find out what to do, it's hard to miss. If you don't feel it click mentally, you probably still don't know what to look for.

To everyone searching endlessly for game results, statistics, stock index values, etc... you're wasting your time. You have to think in a very different direction about the hints.

This challenge is more fun when you do get it, but still kind of meh.

Some good hints here to find out what to do, but finding reliable sources of information is the biggest pain. I had to trawl through some cached pages to find the answers that I needed

Interesting challenge.
There are some archiving sites for the information needed.
You just need to find the archive sites, using this challenge's hint.
Strike hard, and strike deep.
