Anybody Out There?

Post by moose »

What is the task of this challenge? It seems like we would only have to find the correct two integers. As both should be in range [0;999] it makes 1,000,000 tries. May we make those tries automatically to the server? What does the output mean?

I think that is exactly the problem: To find out what it means, and if you find out the meaning you will then be able to find the answer. I don't think the answer consists of two integers between 0 and 999. I could be mistaken though.

If by WOW! you mean World Of Warcraft... um... I don't really see the connection to the challenge? :)

well i certainly dont talk about the game
but there is different meaning by WOW!
and i m certain that it has something to do with this challenge.... but sadly i see a connection and i m unable to solve it cuz of lack of information.... the only possibility is to create the WOW!

but the count of output-numbers doesnt match ....
probably doesnt see the forrest for the trees.... :(

hehe ... well in fact
a friend pointed it out..... i didnt know it before too :)

but would be great if someone who actually solved this could verify if i m on the right track with this... maybe i m completely wrong here :)

I've solved it, and I have no idea what a WOW! is... :/

okay :)
at least something ^^

the wow!-signal was a signal they received from outer space which was 30 times bigger than the normal "noise" (on logarithmic scale)
if u look up at wikipedia for example ("wow!-signal" or something like that)

i thought it might have something to do with the challenge cuz of the curve which goes :
1 1 1 5 J U Q E 6
but obviously there are some more numbers we receive from this challange....

well.... now i m clueless ^^

any hints?

The principle is similar... but not by any means identical :)

I found two integers which produce

1
1
1
1
1
.
.
.

I just don't know if thats what we need to do.
But if it is, then what is the format of the answer? (pm is also ok)

I *think* that the answer is neither the two input numbers nor the twelve output numbers. No matter which values you use/get.

What I could imagine: Say you got a decent sample size of the values, and you plotted them in some coordinate system and they would look like big boobs, then the answer would be "big boobs". ;) Or if it looked like the Eiffel Tower, then the answer would be "Eiffel Tower".

By the way... 'big boobs' is incorrect.

When you work out the answer, it'll be obvious what you need to submit.
