How are we supposed to find the name? I know how to interpret the file, but when searching with google i can only find "Artworks" that are pretty similar - but not identical.

Is there a special syntax i need to use for my searching query?

Look up algebraic notation on Wikipedia - I actually knew the game once I'd worked out how do decode it! :)

I've found the real game and the name of players but no one is the answer. Is the answer a real name?

It's definitely a real name, yes. The actual game is on Wikipedia somewhere, I do believe.

No mistakes in it, maybe some strange way of encoding. (If it is consistently the same error, maybe it is done for a reason). With some looking around, it is possible to find it. It's not that easy, but it is possible.

Immortal ?!

Post by Malfi »

I'm a bit confused. The "art" the challenge is about does know one well known so called "Immortal ..." which is obviously not the solution. (Not at least because that artwork is by far older than the first appearance of grandmasters).
So is the keyword immortal a hint or is it just for confusion?

The name might contain Immortal, that does not mean that the solution has to include it as well.

Anyone who solved it and could answer a quick question via pm?
I think if I ask it in the thread it might provide too much information.
