New site http://bitbath.org launches beta

Post by Kender »

Heya all,

I've been working on a new site for bitbath for a while now.
It incorporates a lot of the ideas and suggestions from this forum that Adum just doesn't have the time to implement.
Like every map is played twice, with sides reversed. You can request a rematch of a certain fight if you have a newer bot. Matches are played 24/7 until all bots have played an equal amount. Etc.

Before I go implementing even more features though, I could use some feedback on the stuff that I've already done. Adum has given his OK on the site and on asking me for beta testers here.

So I'd really appreciate it if you could take a look and give it a go!

Site: http://bitbath.org

Great site! :)

A good idea would be to outsource the bithbath from hacker.org to the bithbath.org and share the highscore with hacker.org (so your rating at bithbath.org would influence your rating in hacker.org).

Agreed. I've seen other websites do that with a game. It's really convenient!

I can't wait to get my computer so I can try this game too!

I made a small adjustment to the rating mechanism so the ranking should reflect the bots skills better now and they should also be a bit more stable.

Are there any plans to get that bitbath.org (or a similar) site back up and running? Or this site?

I had quite a number of ideas to improve my bot, but apparently this site runs twice a year only.

Well, how would anyone be supposed to know? The site is not accessible anymore, and the user Kender has vanished long ago.

You could try sending a mail to adum: adum at adum dot com
