DOwnload of Bots

Hello to all,

I am new here and first of all I have to say thank you for this great game.

A few days ago I uploaded my first bot and now I am interested to get know, how competitive it is. I see, that the overall interest in this game actually is not high, therefore asking for running matches permanently would not be adequate.
Therefore I ask, if it is possible to download other bots class files to do some matches on my local machine.

By the way: there is a (very small) article about this website in a famous german computer journal called "ct"; therefore I hope, that bitbath becomes more popular in the next future.

Best regards,
mj

hi mj -- it's true that there isn't much active play in bitbath, but there are definitely some tough bots already there for you to challenge =)

i'm currently at work on the next version of bitbath, which will be a different game on the site. it's going to be very cool, but a while before it becomes public.

unfortunately we don't allow bot download because java class files are trivially decompiled and that would allow people to steal code, essentially. but if you put new bots up, i will run plenty of battles on the site.

i think it would be nice to get a few bots to make own simulations ;)

if its allowed i would give my bot out here (post a link) maybe others would do the same? i dont care about code stealing (since not much implemented in my bot ;) )

i think it's okay to give out a link to your bot's class file as long as it's not a top bot. a top bot, somebody could just submit as their own. it's best if you run an obfuscator on the class file beforehand too.
