How the virus are made?

I was into programming for a while and I hacked quite a few times on my family computer... caught my brother looking at porn.... -_-U
So I am able to make malicious codes, but I do not know how to spread it from one to another, but I knew that code can be spread if you copy a complete compiled codes overwrite on another executable file. But how do I make it so that the 'virus' can be made through any files that can execute them, but execute it own software too.

I haven't heard the term "prog" since Win95/AOL along with "punters" and "nuking"
And why is he responding to something from august?
The fact that he went this far back on posts shows he has too much time on his hand....
