hi alphie -- good questions =)

all matchups are random: one random bot is pitted against another.

essentially, matches are run continuously around the clock. there may, however, be some periods of downtime for the matchrunner, especially as things are still somewhat in flux right now.

since all matches are run in the hackjvm, they can take a while to complete. i'm going to tweak the game a bit soon to improve this.
