After Redford wrote to challenges solved, I have finally looked at it.
I can see there is a lot of nonrandomnes here. But I am still stuck ...

I just do expect there is nothing hidden in png encapsulation.

I've been stuck on this one for years now  I've spent a long time trying to find some pattern that stands out, but found nothing useful so far. Also unsure why its not a stegano, although it feels like one.

Yup.

You should try some statistical analyses until you find something very interesting. It is also possible to solve this challenge "by accident", but that's IMO not the easiest way to find.

I have found a lot of interesting features which cannot be random. I have created another picture, and now the question is ... Is the message hidden in the created picture or rather in the reorganisation process ... :). The "accident" possibility looks like an interesting hint supporting the former case.

No idea what image you created, so it's hard to hint if it's wrong way or not. But, it may be a good way (you should read this as a hint ;) ).

... :) my transformation tries to approach the image to the challenge title (in some sense) ...
