Is this incredibly easy, or have I missed the point?

Same here.. Took me about 2 minutes to load the whole image and 10 seconds to find the solution in GIMP ;)

Same - came across the solution by accident when I was fiddling with GIMP :)

Finding the text was easy. But if you don't see the password right now, you're (at least a little) on the wrong track... as I was. I searched the net for "lorem ipsum" and had to read about the real meaning of this text. This put me back on the road.
Nice one!

I actually wrote a program to filter out the red myself. Still was super easy lol.

i just chose the red channel in photoshop. i knew right away that the answer was hidden inside the text, since there is another challenge that uses the same text.

I didn't got Red/Blue 3d glasses, but I changed the color Settings of my monitor real quick.

Was really easy.

didn't put any sort of glasses or changed monitor settings, just read through half the lorem ipsum b/s and then got tired, scrolled to the end of the image and found it by accident..

This would have been pretty harder if you didn't put it at the edge of the image
