Reverse License lookup

Does anyone here have resources to do a reverse lookup on a license plate number?

I think at least over here (UK) you can only check the details of the car (year, colour, engine size etc.) but not the details of car. I guess following the car and going bin diving is OTT? You can probably enquire at your local police station about it or fire off an email to the relevant government body and hope they give you an accurate answer and not "no you can't, because I think that sounds silly but have no real idea because I'm just some monkey they pay to know nothing"

Yeah, I have a general idea of where said vahicle is located, so trailing it wouldn't be completely out of the question. I will definitely check the local police station etc. But as you said, they're likely to feed me BS about it. Thanks for the reply. If I discover any other means of locating such information, I'll be sure to share.
