I wish the full cast of
Monty Python: The Holy Grail and their sets, costumes, recording crew ect. were at my disposal just so I could have a scene acted out in jest of oldpirate's "
please someone come to my rescue", then everyone can enjoy the comment as much as I did however simple it was
*nearly wrote out entire scene here*
On a far less amusing note (for me at least); on forums you probably shouldn't leave any requests for help without specifying what the help you
need is which is for a few reasons such:
- A lot of people wont have any interest in such a request, your loss.
- Those who do take notice will have to ask what it is you want, which could mean answering the same question to different people (they might PM you), this also wastes time as you could have stated in your origional post.
- For the the people who do respond, they are less likely to be able to help you as you are already working with a reduced set of people so someone who might be able and would have otherwise been willing to help you passed.
- Gordon Freeman wouldn't do it.

Except that Gordon Freeman is a theoretical physicist, not a computer scientist / engineer :3

you forgot that he is a crowbar specialist too

yup, he's also got a brother called
John who is evidently a computer user as you could assume Gordon is too. As for being a crowbar specialist, he sure has mastered the bashing action with his crowbar but hasn't demonstrated any other manures which is a bit
I think episode 3 should have the crowbar having a 'use' function on items such as crates, doors, hunters and combine heads to open them or maybe some slightly more creative use such as starting up some vehicle

you know guys CodeX and PaRaDoX I really like you ,even that PaRaDoX is younger than me (not a problem),
especially after I read your posts in Liidian's thread "This is how you learn hacking!"
but you didn't really help tito87 to hack that site
if you had the required knowledge(I don't know if you do) would you do it?
in other words are you black, gray, or white hat hackers(although I don't really like this type of ranking)

Saying 'help me hack this site' is another request that will get few 'helpful' answers, to 'hack' a site isn't a specific thing as it could mean writing a single line for an SQL injection attack which could yield the entire contests of the site's databases, maybe it's using a dictionary/brute force attack on something maybe for a user's (such as the admin's) password or even gaining root access on the site's server with some coded exploit. As you can see this makes the request itself indeterminate of what the asker wants other than some form of advantage over a site.
For someone to ask a question like this (i.e. no elaboration) it's fairly apparent they aren't capable themselves of anything like what they want 'help' with and they expect it to be like a walk in the park which it isn't exactly as otherwise they would be doing it themselves (with koolpop0's
hacker2.2, which would be nice if it existed) and would have no need to ask, or they want someone to do all the work for them which is rather unlikely, would you expect "sure I'll help, I'm an expert at these things" if you were to go into town at night, pick a closed shop out of view and then phone up a random security consultant you found on the internet and ask if they'll break in for you, with no reward or reason proposed? That's why tito87 there haven't been any offers of help on this thread because its just a ludicrous question that draws flak so even if anyone is capable of the 'hacking' it's very improbable that anyone will. So thats a no to would I do it, regardless of whether I practice white, grey or black ethics even though to answer your second question, I fall into the grey hat category
When you say PaRaDoX is 'younger' than you I assume you mean his hacker.org profile is less accredited than yours? I agree that using the profiles here isn't exactly a brilliant system for ranking people on as such (I wouldn't be saying that if I tails though), but then again that's what personal judgment is for, as we don't take small things to mean everything

thanks CodeX for replying and for these cool info
I meant by 'younger' that his younger than me in the age
PaRaDoX wrote:
Going into grade 11 ftw!
16 years old btw.
I think he wrote this in a thread called 'what's your level of education' but the age is really nothing in
this context ,I now that, because I believe his knowledge is better than mine in this field, and outsider is an example too "sorry for using your name outsider as an example"
so thanks any way and good to know that you fall in the gray

Dunno about myself. Normally I wouldn't do anything wrong, unless there was a DAMN good reason for it, not like, "SPY ON MY GF I THINK SHE CHEATING
".
It'd probably have to be as serious as life / death, but of course that will never happen.
Unless I worked for the police. Which wouldn't be horrible actually.
But yea.

that you wouldn't do it
but what did you mean by "But yea." thing
do you mean that you would do it if it was life/death thing or related to police
