Hello all, I have recently got the site that I have been talking about up. Heres the link:

http://yermummy.mkgreene.com

Anywho, please comment on the design, what it needs, what it doesn't need, and how the hell to incorporate liquid design without entirely scrapping the site! Thanks!

Seems your site was made by some M$-Office related program, given the fact that is uses VML (although an approved standard, only supported by some IE-versions, and not recommended since svg and 9-scale-techniques)
Which results in code that's, well... putting it in a nice way: crap :P

I do love your scheme and layout, so if I have some spare time, I'll try to make a valid XHTML-backbone for a liquid layout. (Without 284 Errors from W3 :D although about 1/3rd of them are probably due to no doctype..)

If I grasp your idea correctly, your intention is to have 3 columns, of which the outer two are fixed in width?
The first column contains: part of the header, advertentions (should it stay 'in view', or just scroll along with the page?).
The center column consists of: the header/banner, a menu, pagecontent
The right one: don't quite understand the intention, since it's still empty, unless it's there for pure symmetry (which in turn is rather useless)
The pagecontent has some kind of news/items look, and each item has it's own grayish area, with a title and then actual content. (on the main-page I mean, videopage is for your own try afterwards ;) )

If that is how you want it, I could give you some clean code to start from if you'd like. Nevertheless: if you want a good site, learn (x)html and css. Make sure you understand the code that's given to you and don't hesitate to ask about it.

And lastly, one point of criticism on the design. On the main-page, don't interrupt the blue background of the central content. I have the feeling that your page is made whilst having a hiccup or sth

Don't let my post offend or scare you in any way, it's always nice to welcome someone new who's willing to try and create stuff!

Thanks for all the advice and feeback. I am aware I need a liquid design, but I don't want to have to code the whole thing out in html... I will if I have to, but nonetheless I would rather not. And yeah, you have the gyst of it. The bar on the left and right are for mostly symmetry, but I might add something there eventually, like additional links to other pages.

One thing we're thinking about is a load of flash animated movies and games... but WHEN we're going to add those is another question entirely.

I'll take that as a yes considering retarded people seldom know to read everything before posting.
