First of all, I would like to say I'm glad I found a helpful site to learn how to program and hack.

INTRO:

I am 16 and have future plans to learn to program. I have gone through several sites learning to use Scar Divi 3.15 and to learn how to script autoers. I believed that this Scar would help me to learn to script and stuff, but I don't really have the "creative" mind to outthink my problems. I am a slow learner and learning to create scripts was a very hard task for me and I'm still trying to learn how to create scripts. So please do not be rude to me, as I am a slow learner to programming. I have to potential to learn this!


TO THE POINT!:

Yes, this site is probably my last option to learning to program and hack without the need of school help.

Okay, so I am new, I really don't know what I should start in. I have heard of C++, java, Scar Divi, and all of that magic wonders. It's jsut that I don't really have a foothold onto what would be the best option to learn programming, so I ask of you, What would be a good suggested programming language That I should start in, So I can learn the basics.


NOTE: If any of you have ever used Scar Divi 3.15, I would gladly appreciate some guides, because I have searched the internet and I still can't get those strings and booleans into my head. For some reason, I just can't hold the information I learn, So I tend to forget what I learn usually after a few weeks...

Well, Im no expert programmer, but for the most part I think the language you use is up to personal preference and what you want to do. Here are some links to some decent tutorials you can try.

This is the microsoft MSDN site for learning Visual Studio Express Editions for Windows Dev and Webn Dev (only useful with windows really) The reason I mention this is because it uses video tutorials that you can follow along with and might be easier for some to follow and grasp. I did'nt find them much help but you might. They focus mainly on C# and VB.

This site has been around for a while, they have some decent primers and beginner tuts for java applets, javascript, php, vb script and then a lot on HTML, XML, CSS etc if your interested in web design.

well, you can't memorize them because you need to constantly practice. another thing, doesn't your school offer a computer course? I'm taking one currently, i know you said that you didn't want school help, but it is a really good thing to try, even if it sounds easy!

an easy programming language? if you're just trying to grasp the basics, i guess Turing wouldn't be too challenging, but its WAAAAAY old school (like 80's)

No, I am still in high school, and my high school doesn't have programming classes, so this is why I came here.

No, I am still in high school, and my high school doesn't have programming classes, so this is why I came here.

that's odd. I'm only in high school as well, but it offers programming o.0. Guess i can't help then T.T

my school dont offer programming either, just networking+ and I.T. core

ouch, we get networking and programming. That's about it.

Hey, enjoy that...The schools down here suck! When I was in highschool the closest thing we had to anything computer related was, Keyboarding, Computer Application, and E-Commerce <--this was a joke because all it taught was how to search the Internet. I move to NC from South Florida back in middle school, and I can tell you that the schools here are behind by 2+ years. No wonder the south has its reputation!

im taking the networking course, im supposed to be in I.T. core though (excuse my bad spelling) my guidance person sucks and thaught that you had to in 11th to take I.T. core, and when she relized the mistake it was full, so she put me in networking, which is harder than core. im nt complaining though, i get both A+ and networking+ certification lol

according to me u sould try java or .net as c++ is almost outdated compared to these and are the most frequently used is java.

And if I were you I would learn python as it is a pretty simple but powerful language.

Just to add, dot net is not a programming language. It's a framework that basically allows different programming languages to communicate with each other. Of course with in dot net you can use js, c#, vb, c, c++, python, ruby. dot net is a microsoft thing.

do u really think i dont know what i am typing about well than ur higly mistaken i know a lot about java as im studiying it in school and im pretty darn good as am studying it for abot a year now. using bluej and lerning bubble arry and if u might have noticed this site uses java like most other sites do.

and .net is a proggraming language created by java.
