I know what the iPod connection is, but I can't tell you details here because I would reveal the solution thereby.
I can say at least that there is an iPod/iPhone WebApp which lets you easily decode the text.
Anyhow, you don't really need to own an iPod.

this took me a little while. At first I was looking up a bunch of texting lingo but that's not how you do it.
