... in other words: [1] Do the numbers reflect the words?
[2] Are words inside the text, so the finding of the numbers was useless???????????
[3] Is the calculation (my first post here) incorrect.
[4] To solve it we have to look at a completely different direction.
Whitch direction is best to look for or whitch one is a blind alley?
Sorry, but i have NO idea...

1) be more precise, what do you mean "numbers reflect the words" - I don't want to send you on a wrong track, but neither want to give away too much
2) no
3) yes
4) not really, you are very, very close... stop thinking too complicated

Thanks for the hint. So we are close.
I thought "easy" by eliminating the ":" and convert from Hex2Ascii

No result. I think i have to give up......

No Hex, no ASCII, it's much simpler, don't give up!

Indeed, I find myself in a similar situation. Any more hints on the the resultant text should look like? We already know that it should have no spaces when submitted and that it's apparently not normal English.
In addition to tips, if any, would one who's solved it be so kind as to clarify:
whether it contains solely characters, or includes numbers and special characters, etc.
Eagerly awaiting your help,
Thorton

Oh, I forgot, would it be possible to hint at the length? As in small or large?

Ah never mind all that then.
Yay

I still have no clue how to apply the numbers to <anything>, since there is a chapter number and a passage number. Maybe combine the two?

Just go for the simplest solution you can think of. And then just blindly submit the "word" you get out of your "decoding" method.
As many others have said: this challenge is a lot easier than some of you here apparently think it is (you've got the numbers already, now there's not much work left to do).

Overall solved it... But i dont agree to everybody here, who is telling us to use the "easiest" way.
The pure decoding-mechanism (!) of the message is extremely easy - correct. But to examine this, you have to go into many blind alleys...
