Sorry, i was in error here. Above I described how in my understanding the scoring was intended to be. A closer look at the Runaway ranking reveals that starting with Mütze, the 101st to solve all 513 levels, people don't get their 100 points. This is indeed not fair and I believe it to be a bug.

It might be not a bug, but intentional. That would leave the question why one would want to do the ranking in such a... let's say "fanciful" way.

I wonder if adum is aware of it. Since its been like that for a while now.

(I just got crossflip to level 643, i guess i am lucky to be in the first 100 solvers, since i got my first 100 points after a long time yay! )

Wow I just checked tiwe's profile and my achievements are almost the same as him except that I solved a few more challenges.

But his rank is so much higher than mine!

I agreed with the rest of the posters, the ranking system should be fixed.

The overall ranking hasn't changed for weeks now.
The subrankings (challenges http://www.hacker.org/challenge/top.php and puzzle rankings like http://www.hacker.org/brick/?showhigh) are still alive.

Perhaps some cron job died and needs to be restarted?

Yes, there's something wrong with ranking, everyone is jumping up and down randomly. I mailed adum few hours ago.
