I second python... Its friggin easy. If you have ever coded in basic it is slightly similar but waaaaay better. Speaking of qbasic, that was my first language when i was like 7. Yeah, I made some pretty lame games and half way through a semi decent combat system for an rpg. But with the combat system, if you looked at the code, it was the sloppiest crap you have ever seen and it wouldn't even give you the right numbers for damage dealt and damage taken. It would spit out something ridiculous like 42 when the player only had like 16 health, and vice versa for damaging. Another limitation was that you could only fight deer... Aside from that, the system worked by actually dealing and taking damage, but still, was sloppy code. I was 7 or 8, I have learned much since then and virtually forgotten everything of qbasic i knew.
