I don't get the hint about the iPod, but I have solved it (seriously, there is really not much else to say without giving the whole lot away!) Just do what it says in the file, and submit your answer 'like a 8411'. Sorry if this isn't helpful!

Not many people are 1337 enough to get this challenge solved, it's not a bad challenge though which can involve a fair bit of walking

I got the empty file and I looked at the path. Above should be the path, shouldn't it?
I have no iPod and I use Ubuntu, so are the given hints helpful for me?

edit: I got it. Someone has postet a comment with a very straight hint. I don't get the iPod / look above hint, but you don't need it if you are leet enough.

Absolutely weird - but i found whe word finally.
I Still have no idea what this has to do with an iPod - perhaps someone can enlighten me via PM.
BTW - i have an iriver - i'm noth a devoted follower of Steve...

I reckon the iPod clue is related to another challenge...
