Point of this site?
So I don't know if this site is a joke now or what but....I remember the register page didn't have a clickable submit button and now it does i don't know if that attracted a bunch of no brained idiots to populate this site but all I am seeing is mostly people just insult other people and trying to act like their big...I figured a site called hacker.org would have ALOT more reading material but I hardly see anything that is worth reading here for knowledge, amusement yes knowledge no..Is this site supposed to be a joke or what. I bet some one is going to reply with 'CRACKER' or some shit like that probably some lame insult or an insult that is trying to be formed into an intelectual insult.

No, we do have a fair bit of reading material, you gotta look.panderiz wrote:So I don't know if this site is a joke now or what but....I remember the register page didn't have a clickable submit button and now it does i don't know if that attracted a bunch of no brained idiots to populate this site but all I am seeing is mostly people just insult other people and trying to act like their big...I figured a site called hacker.org would have ALOT more reading material but I hardly see anything that is worth reading here for knowledge, amusement yes knowledge no..Is this site supposed to be a joke or what. And we get alot of fucking idiots here spamming it up asking people how to crack, its clearly stated in the websites URL "Hacker". But no, these dipshits still come and go "cn u plz hck in2 my skewl!!11!"
The real ethical hackers/hackers in training don't need this shit, and enjoy the opportunity to flame, if you think this site is pointless or not what you want, click the "Log Off" and don't come back, if you are interested in becoming an ethical hacker and not a cracker and you are willing to learn, then please, do enjoy your time here.

Point of this site
I agree with S3th, If you don't like what you see, do what most other half-brain nubs do any click the "log out" button, if your too fucking stupid to find that simply click the "X" and don't return, Yet again, if your still to stupid, simple go up to the address bar, and type anything unrelated to "hacker.org" and viola, your gone, were happy. Yeah? Don't need to make huge pointless fucking paragraphs that yet lead to nubs wasting more of my time.
Re: Point of this site?
You might want to try the challenges. They are starting very easy but have a pretty good learning curve that require a lot of research in hacker topics. I learned a lot about things I never had to use before (decompiling of different languages, usage of less known languages, SQL injections) and had to refresh my programming skills (also, you will need different languages, at least for understanding some code you encounter on your way)panderiz wrote:So I don't know if this site is a joke now or what but....I remember the register page didn't have a clickable submit button and now it does i don't know if that attracted a bunch of no brained idiots to populate this site but all I am seeing is mostly people just insult other people and trying to act like their big...I figured a site called hacker.org would have ALOT more reading material but I hardly see anything that is worth reading here for knowledge, amusement yes knowledge no..Is this site supposed to be a joke or what. 1) Challenges are pretty cool.
2) Alot of information on hacker.org is pretty basic, yet they pretty much answer questions.
3) Decompiling, less known languages and SQL injections are pretty common for the average searcher. But hacker.org can provide a bit of information on that i guess.
4) What programming skills did you have to refresh.. and for what..?
5) Yes it helps to understand some scripting languages, otherwise if you do encounter the source of something, your not all like "what the fk?".
6) Could you imagine hacking without knowing any scripting languages, you wont get far in most cases, Right?
anyway,
Thank-you.
Re: Point of this site?
re4) actually I have lost quite a lot of my Java/C++/C-knowledge, I needed more than I could remember. You will need to programm quite a lot in later challenges, do your own tools etc.Provant wrote: I agree:

You definitly need knowledge in a scripting language, for me it's PHP but some Python knowledge will be needed, too. Most of the coding I did so far was in PHP but I am now at a point where the execution time gets to big, so I will probably continue with some C++

Yeah I get ya, I'm just starting to do a bit of Computer Programming and Technical work, so yeah, I will need a bit for programming maybe. I don't know I still havn't fully studied into it aye.
I'll find out in a few days (:

Scripting is not require in most cases, because programming used higher functionality to do the job.Provant wrote:I agree:rmplpmpl wrote:You might want to try the challenges. Umm yeah actually it would help, if you were too look at the source of something and you didn't know any coding or scripting languages your not going to understand right? Well that's my point i'm making. Only other thing is possibly WYSIWYG Editors which only NUBS use. Seriously, But yeah, I understand what your talking about but that's what i mean.

And the point of that post was..?athlete501 wrote:lots of extended posts...not reading lol..but this site is kinda for quick questions...but without any administration looking over this specific section...it gets out of hand
Your saying it gets out of hand yet here you are replying with pointless messages that have no questions and mean nothing? Where was the quick question in that post..? Talk about strange.

Re: Point of this site?
Take me as an example. At first I do not know anything about scripting or programming, so I went to WhiteKnight and he told me to use DarkBASIC as a game creator. But later it helps me utilized my skills without any scripting languages. Now I'm on to C# and I have a bit of knowledge for website for supporting ASP .Net 3.5 in C#. In this point I know it is not require to know scripting. Why?Provant wrote:Umm yeah actually it would help, if you were too look at the source of something and you didn't know any coding or scripting languages your not going to understand right? Scripting is the matter of customization in a way for application to communicate from your changes. It not require to understand programming. Programming usually do not have WYSIWYG since it have to be compiled first.

I know that, but it is still handy to know scripting languages (:BerryTheWest wrote:Take me as an example. I myself have learnt a lot of scripting languages, and just finished learning Binary and Hexadecimal. :3
Hmmm I think this site is great..
Im not a pro but Im not that noob either. All I want to say is that hacker.org is a site where everyone can learn all about new programs or some ways to solve one's problem. If you can't find anything in the databe, why not try posting a new thread on the topic you want to know?? That way some experienced people here can answer whatever your problem is. If not they can give a hint or something to help you.
