Question about the "netstat" command

Yeah, I heard about that netstat command from paradox, and I am currently in a skype video call with my friend and only local connections with my 192.168.0.17 number is showing up. Is there some sort of configuration I have to go through to make it show me outside connections? Or am I just retarded and the connections are right in front of me and I have no fucking clue what I am looking at?

There are two types of internet protocols in your network. Internal and external internet protocol. Your internal is your local area network such as 192.168.1.1 and external is for internet you can find your real IP by whatismyip.com

Yeah I knew that much, but I mean like only local stuff shows up. Is that the whole point to the netstat command, that it only shows on a local network level?

well, the idea is you have to type -a at then end. this displays all incoming connections, and my method only works on MSN (as far as i know, i don't use skype, though i know it's better, but more of my friends just use msn) skype may connect them differently.

if you wanna get someones email..you can send them an email...have them reply and look at the headers (google how to interpret the headers) and it'll give you their emails

like 75-80% of the time..depending on their provider i think

usually it just gives you the isp's server ip (its a proxy so don't bother) but some isp allow headers to display the originating ip

Proxy = Good idea as long it isn't private or personal.

I used my enemy's computer as a proxy allowing their computer be screwed while I'm safe.

*Before they become my enemy, they allowed me to use their computer for a proxy when I'm at school while I make up random excuses.*

Yeah that was another thing, how exactly do you connect to someone elses computer? Like, do you telnet their ip or something?

(I am doubting it because telnet is outdated and vista doesn't even have the protocol)
