nyway, exactly, just have it load CMD to start with first (and maybe find a way to edit CMD to continue booting normally / interact with flash drives / blah blah blah other stuff?

Well you'll just have to change the Linux structure, but this task is no easy task. But you did raise some interesting idea that I'll attempt to try this.

Oh and Windows Vista only took me 2 seconds to boot up on a laptop. ^_^

lol yea, but your laptop must be pretty good

that and....i hate to sound like a lot of noobs out there but vista, to me, well, frankly, sucks compared to XP. (yes I'm not stupid, I've actually tried vista and liked XP better.)
everything takes more disk space on vista and generally requires a higher end machine :/

but anyway, it's not that much of a matter of changing the linux structure completely, as much as finding the file that calls the boot, and changing it a bit (but yea, good luck with that)

Not likely.

Files and directory trees are ideal as far as representing data goes. They're proven winners and have been around since the sixties.

I don't anticipate any significant changes in operating systems, technically speaking, as time goes on.

I would suggest you guy to change the file path directory divider so that you can improve your own security. It work for me pretty well.

Preventing user's stupid mistake by executing a malware with file location specific since people tent to use "static" path where it located in C drive and your system folder.

yea, but then you have the smart cookies who use every possible path (eg searches one path, attempts to perform action, then switches to next letter :S)

well, they used the alphabet.

C must've been the third drive named, since A is the floppy drive normally and B, iunno, card reader?
