Dish Network Smart Cards and Recievers

Thank god for Mortal Coil.

Anyway, I recieved a Dish Network Reciever from my Grandmother. I wish to be able to use it. But it won't forget that it's supposed to have a different package. I opened it up hoping a ROM Chip was in side that I could reset.

So is there a way to reprogram it so that we may use it? If there isn't, tell me somethings I can do with it. Seems like a waste not to use it for something.

what i'm doing is very important
