How easy is it to track down the user's ISP from email addrs

In other words, what personal information can be gleaned from just having a person's email address?

For example, the email address: ra0v@yahoo.com

What information can you find on this address? (It's an old one of mine, I'm just curious as to the privacy associated with a free email address).

Depends on who hosts it, what personal info you give up front, who your sending it to, and so on there are many variables. a yahoo account you make with all fake information, only thing they can get is your ip, what in it's self is a alot.

Even with free emails, they don't give out your info unless warranted ie: the cops are looking for you.

obviously people can try to crack in with different ways. the best way to keep crackers out is really using the most amount of characters aloud (in most cases 64 characters. make sure to use Caps and symbolizes)

If your phishing to find out how to get in to emails or getting others to get into emails :) you will have to find that on your own.

*tag on to that* Make sure not to give out your user names and passwords...thats a bad idea. Along side of that when they ask for a SECRETE question, never give a real answer do another random Cap symbol and number answer, and remember to write it down if you have a hard time remembering and throw it in a wallet or safe or remember 1 password programs!

If you're just trying to figure out what information on the internet is tied to an email address, you can use a search engine like pipl.com. pipl.com can also be used to search other things such as usernames and first and last names.
