Spambots

Post by 0042 »

Is there a report feature to identify spambots with? And/or a rule about deleting/banning said bots from the forums? I'm losing interest in this place because of all the <badword> spam.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who thinks this?

There isn't. Zaffron once stated that the main board could be a psychological experiment by adum, just to see how long we can stand the spam.

I've also noticed that the bots seem to come and go in flows over time, it's not always as busy as now; besides, they do keep the forum alive

I still suspect Zaffron to be right though..

Your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to write a mod in PHP 5.2.6 for a customised and patched version of PHPBB2 2.0.22 which stops the sickening sinful software's sustained spam sortie. As always, should you or any of your IM Force be caught or killed, the Secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions.
