i mean, there are many factors, like frontview, shell, speed, technical factor, comfort factor.
but the real question is who is really most safe? who is really usefull and ergonomic?

slackware have 16 285 downloads.
for comparsion
Gentoo have 6798 dl's
freeBSD have 711 dl's
Ubuntu have 406 dl's
openSUSE have 15 614 dl's
Fedora have 5468 dl's

First of all, as Zaffron stated: there not really 'programs' but window managers...
Second: they mostly just control the way your windows look, so it's a matter of taste, not of being 'better'. As a matter of fact, both KDE and Gnome are among the more resource-consuming windowmanagers, so if you're looking for pure performance, neither of them is fit (is the latter a correct English construction?).
I f you don't know what to choose, look for screenshots of both, enough can be found using a search-engine.
