wow. i attempted with c++ but was stumped. looked online and found a site which counts words....
does anyone have a c++ solution for this so i can examine it? that would be great

am i on the right track? hex to bin bytes xor backwards with 79 bin back to hex. this is not working for me. unless my calculations were wrong somewhere. ascii table needed perhaps?

strange. i dont understand why a file conversion would be necessary to produce the correct answer. does compressing it generate the correct answer? i had to save as another file type to get the correct hex values....

i got different values from gimp as well. and i didn't read them wrong. i was only able to solve it thanks to the proper hex posted above. now im stuck on the didactic red challenge with improper hex values as well. this is the only trouble ive expressed and ive branched out further in all other dir...
