Thanks :) I didn't even think of that, that's interesting! Unfortunately those chars appear quite frequently in the middle of words (well of course I suppose I've found the space...) like "favaGsalsa" and suddenly "aaafkzD".

Anyway thank you, I'll try to go forward with that!

Yeah well I'm on it already as you understood.
If I'm asking for hints though, especially about 'a' and 'i', it's because I'm having trouble getting started with my frequency analysis.
If anybody else has useful hints, that'd be really appreciated.

CipherQuest B

Hello, It seems that there are some more ponctuations symbols on this one?! They drive me crazy!! Would it be possible to have hints about the chars 'a' and 'i' at least? I mean... Why on earth would they appear like "aaa" and "iii". Hmmm, point no, comma no, quote no... maybe ne...

Same problem for the non native english speaker that I am...
I provided google with the word completed with a random letter. It then told me "did you mean..." with the right answer.

I used the well-known 'pngckeck' tool under linux.
Thought the size of the second idat chunk was weird... So I tried to resize 0x10 -> 0x20, and it worked. I got quite lucky!

My bad.

Also I concur, the real fun is achieving the challenge!
Why don't you just talk about it with her? (After you got her IM logs of course, and not read them.)
Let me guess, easier to advise than to actually do?

CodeX wrote:(also why would you be getting delivery fail notifications otherwise? it's in the fail notification)
I guess if anybody else uses his address as From: header, then he would be the one receiving the delivery.

MSN asks for a "Instant Message Address" when you first register, and that's the address through wich the messages are gonna be sent and received, therefore, the protocol has to be related to the mail server, am I right? Completely wrong, but that's okay. Instant messaging is not going th...

Here's the problem I see. If you go and spy on her (yes it is spying), then she can't trust you. Trust is entirely lost. You lose anyway. Either try and win her solid or find someone who is more worthy of your trust or just talk to her about your fears. If she's a decent girl she loves talking abou...

Considering all of the previous, there are few hopes for me. I was only thinking if there is a way of programming her mail server to save the sent and received instant messages somewhere I have access to. I don't know if that is possible, and if it is, I would have to know her password. And finding...

I don't know, I was just wondering... maybe the kid is only twelve or so? In that case I would just tell him: it's okay sweety, you'll grow up and learn those things, just take your time!

Yeah you might be right. Well, as for me, I tried googling and all that. I ended up at wikipedia trying to do it by hand, etc. 5 min passed before I said to myself, that's it, I write a little union program. And it took me less than a minute. But I understand, finding the right website right away se...

Unless you both are physically connected by hubs (and that is of course not the case), there is no chance that you can monitor her messaging or anything else, *at the state things are now*. However, there are things to do to fix that up. First of all, it would help a lot if you were on the same LAN....
